Lowell Crabb, CFP®Founder and Principal
As Drive Wealth’s Founder and Principal, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm and the advanced planning techniques used firm wide. He also serves as a senior adviser assisting business owners, corporate executives and high-net worth families with their financial objectives.
Lowell employs his successful entrepreneurial experience to advise clients in critical financial planning matters, such as cash flow forecasting, investment and real estate analysis, deal terms, business and estate structuring, income tax, executive compensation and business ownership succession. Before forming Drive Wealth, Lowell was a partner at Links Consulting and a financial consultant at Beneficial Financial Group. He serves as a board member of United Energy Workers and the Kidnected World Foundation.
Lowell earned a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University. He holds the series 65 and is a Certified Financial Planner®.
Taylor Vowles, CPA
Taylor Vowles, CPAChief Investment Officer and Senior Adviser
Taylor Vowles serves as the firm’s CIO and is a senior adviser. He currently works with high-net worth families and individuals regarding their planning and investment needs.
Taylor has been an adviser with Drive since January 2018. Before Drive Wealth, Taylor was a managing director at Crewe Capital. Taylor has also held positions at Fidelity Investments, Russell Investments, and Lone Peak Valuation Group in addition to running his own consulting firm.
Taylor received his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of Utah, MBA in international finance from the University of South Carolina and Diploma in Financial Strategy from the University of Oxford. His final paper at Oxford, focusing on growth aspects of the wealth management industry, was one of four papers in his class to pass with distinction. He holds an active CPA license and has passed level one of the CFA exam. He is fluent in Hmong and has lived in China and Spain. Taylor also serves as a vice-chair for the Eccles Alumni Board at the University of Utah.
Richard (Rick) K. Baird, CFA
Richard (Rick) K. Baird, CFASenior Portfolio Manager and Adviser
Richard “Rick” Baird oversees the research, construction and maintenance of the firm’s fixed income and equity based separately managed accounts utilized for both high net worth families and institutional investors.
Before Drive Wealth, Rick founded Wind River Advisors. Rick has also received national recognition for his management of municipal bond funds.
Rick has a Bachelor of Science in business management and finance from Brigham Young University. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst certification in 1986.
Ben Marshall, CFP®
Ben Marshall, CFP®Senior Adviser
Ben Marshall’s specialties include retirement plan preparation, retirement income maximization and investment portfolio construction. He is well versed in the income tax and succession planning disciplines and has experience collaborating with CPA and estate attorneys to optimize clients’ return on investments.
Ben received a number of employee awards during his tenure at Wachovia Securities, Raymond James Financial Services, and Wells Fargo.
Ben has a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Utah. He holds the series 66, the life and health license and is also a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor.
Ryken HarrisDirector of Operations
Ryken Harris oversees various functions of the firm ranging from account performance reporting and billing to technology research and information systems. He also serves on the firm’s investment committee. He started his career at Drive Wealth as an intern and has since climbed the ranks serving in multiple positions within the company.
Ryken obtained a Bachelor of Science in personal financial planning from Utah Valley University. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in finance from the University of Utah. Ryken has passed the level one exam in order to become a Certified Financial Analyst®. While still a student he also co-founded a startup, Aptitude.
Scott Sadleir is an associate dedicated to client service. He has been with Drive Wealth Advisers since January of 2019. Scott is responsible for assisting senior level advisors in their efforts to effectively plan for and service client accounts and household needs. He is currently enrolled in UVU’s Personal Financial Planning program. He has been recognized as an outstanding leader by the Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy.
Scott’s prior experience which includes starting and managing two small businesses along with acquiring two patents makes him uniquely suitable for handling client requests and understanding their needs. Scott is also an outdoor enthusiast and loves spending time with his wife and son.
James Franklin assists the firm’s director of operations in managing the technology and information systems within the firm. He is currently pursuing a degree in personal financial planning at Utah Valley University. He is currently preparing for the Certified Financial Planner comprehensive exam in March.
Cara focuses on helping clients establish and maintain financial order and clarity as they prepare for retirement despite the complex financial landscape. She believes we should look to the future with anticipation rather than fear. From cash flow management to tax efficiency and estate planning, her pursuit is to maximize the monetary value derived from the hard work her clients put forth so they can realize their life’s goals and ambitions.
Cara has spent the majority of her career leading project development in industries such as technology, media and construction. Her leadership experience has made her uniquely equipped for overseeing the many facets of managing one’s private wealth.
Cara studied at UC Irvine while playing Division I basketball. After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in northern Spain, she graduated from the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication with an Organizational Communication emphasis and a minor in Spanish. She holds the series 65 license.
Cara enjoys being active, and her passion for athletics has led her to serve in the community as a coach for soccer, volleyball, softball and basketball.
Liberty WaltonAdministrative Assistant
Liberty Walton is an executive assistant for the firm’s senior advisers. She specializes in preparing and finalizing client paperwork as well as acting as a front for customer contact, answering questions, and requesting information.
She is a former student athlete, playing soccer for the University of Utah. She received a soccer scholarship to pay for her schooling so she could earn a Bachelor’s degree in strategic communications. She was awarded a spot on the Dean’s list all 4 years and was recently added to the Drive Wealth team. Her outgoing personality allows easy communication with customers and a personable experience leading to a comfortable environment for customers to talk about their financial goals.
